Course overview

Course last audited November 2024

This online (on demand) course teaches staff how to manage medicines in schools in line with the statutory guidance issued in December 2014 (revised 2015): “Supporting Pupils at School with Medical Conditions”.

We also have a version of this course for Scotland which is inline with “Supporting children and young people with healthcare needs in schools” (published 2017).

It will show you how to set up the paperwork and processes you need to manage medicines safely in schools and how to receive, store and administer medicines safely to pupils. It is assessed by a Virtual Medicines Round that checks the skills required to accurately administer medicines and a knowledge assessment.
