Course overview
There is often a lack of formal training around controlled drugs. Staff are often unclear to which drugs the legal controls apply, and lack knowledge on witnessing, recording and safe storage requirements. This course will teach you how to manage and administer controlled drugs in line with legal requirements and national best practice (Controlled drugs: safe use and management, NICE guideline [NG46] April 2016).
We have also designed a new CD register, field tested with two national care organisations, that we can train staff to use on this course.
